Limitation of UID of passwd

Does anyone know what is the limitation of the UID in passwd for SuSE Linux 7.x We have users whose UID is 200001 > with this, the users cannot login and when you try su to the user, it give you back "su: cannot set user id: Invalid argument" Our passwd are on NIS. Account lower than 200001 have no problems. Steven
