since some days (may be a week), my laptop under 13.1 boots with numlock on.
As it don't have numeric pad, this makes typing passwd difficult (I have to deactivate numlock first).
I never had this before, neither with this computer.
Yast is on no numlock as is kde4. The problem is on kdm.
what may I look for?
# egrep -i num /etc/sysconfig/keyboard # NumLock on? ("yes" or "no" or empty or "bios" for BIOS setting) KBD_NUMLOCK="yes" # what YaST should be setting What's yours set to? # egrep -i lock kdmrc | egrep -i num # What to do with the Num Lock modifier for the time the greeter is running: NumLock=On # probably control belongs in personal settings -> login manager, but I don't think you'll find it there, and will have to edit kdmrc yourself, if you can find it What's yours set to (in whatever non-intuitive location is home to your kdmrc)? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
