ThemeDir= Path of the directory containing theme files. Default value is "/usr/share/sddm/themes".

They do have a preview. I just tried "maya", which is plain. The input fields are huge, though.
"elarun" is tiny, maybe too tiny on the icons.
"maldives" has a nice photo in background, the fields are reasonable sized, and the buttons have text, not icons. I'll keep this one. It doesn't matter much, this machine login is normally not touched in months, but not ugly and usable is something to have.
The layout in all themes is "us" and there are no choices. :-?
