I love Un*x ability for scripting / shell and I do not think there is scripting on the Mac.
Actually, the scripting support on Macs is very good, better than any other platform I've tried 8-) With the use of AppleScript it's pretty easy to to control other application (given that they support Applescript) adding functionality that wasn't previously available. I have for example one that works together with my mail program, a database, a text editor and telnet to manage user accounts on a Linux server (I won't go into details why I need this 8-) but it works beutifully and I have never been able to do anything like this without a major effort on other platforms. And AppleScript works very well with for example Perl or other similar tools. <p> jem -- Jan Erik Moström mailto:jem@mostrom.pp.se Free Elektron http://www.mostrom.pp.se/folk/jem/
