I haven't tried out the kernel yet, but from what I've heard already, there are a lot of new helpful features like IDE cd burning and built in asla, etc... That there is just as much "hacking pleasure" using the new kernel as there is using KDE 3 instead of KDE 2. Naturally, if you're curious, there are articles all over the internet highlighting some of the major changes. -----Original Message----- From: Andrei Verovski (aka MacGuru) [mailto:andreil1@mail.starlett.lv] Sent: Monday, September 22, 2003 11.08 To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] General 2.6.0 Kernel Question Hi, I have seen a lot of discussion regarding 2.6.0 kernel. I knew there are people who have succeeded to install and deploy it. The question is what real functionality benefits they got with 2.6.0 kernel, except hacking pleasure. Thanks. ********************************************* * Best Regards --- Andrei Verovski * * Personal Home Page * http://snow.prohosting.com/guru4mac * Mac, Linux, DTP, Development, IT WEB Site ********************************************* -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
