I did the same because I too use OpenOffice a lot and I needed some of the new features not available in SUSE's OOo-1.3 builds. For those wondering about OOo-2.0-Beta and kde-3.4, I installed both, kde first, and my system is running fine. I haven't had any problems and OOo v.2 has many new features.

I tried OOo v2 and found that simpress seems to have problems. So, I might have downloaded a very early version so may try it again. Question I have is concerning a USB hard drive that is an WD IDE HD. It is in a Cypress Semiconductor Corp. USB 2.0 device which is plugged into a USB 2 ASUS motherborad. Problem is sometimes it is spotted ( lsusb ) however, it will not mount as /dev/sd*. I get the following erro: " mount: special device /dev/sda1 does not exist " . I have had it mount correctly and then not correctly. " mount /dev/sda1 /media/sda1 " has failed and worked. lsusb seems to show that it "timed out" because it is plugged in a nd powered up.
