No need for this. Mplayer statically link its own avcodec from ffmpeg during the build process.

These have nothing to do with mplayer. Xine is a completely different program. Things to check: (1) If you start mplayer from the console, does the version shown match the version you have installed? (2) Do you see these files: wma9dmod.dll wmadmod.dll wmspdmod.dll wmv8ds32.ax wmv9dmod.dll wmvdmod.dll wmvds32.ax in /usr/lib/win32? Charles -- lp1 on fire (One of the more obfuscated kernel messages)
