Hey Groups;
Any clues as where to look?
the problem lies with the pilot-link program that comes as a default with SuSE 9.0. For whatever reason, SuSE included an old version of the program, and it doesn't recognize USB. So what you will need to do is to upgrade to .0.11.3 (if memory serves correctly -- the version number may be off.)

Well thanks Krikket. However, I did already upgrade to pilot-link-0.11.5 (the latest is 0.11.8) and it still fails to find it. Version 0.1.5 did work under 8.2 and "lsusb" does spot it.
Ergh. I wish I had other ideas, but I don't. Mine stopped wroking for a day, but the next day started working again for no apparent reason. Don't know if it's related though. (And as far as I can tell, the only difference between when it did and did not work was the day I tried. *nothing* was changed *anwwhere* on my system.) Krikket
