Will we get an update for 52.8.1esr in update, since that is the release that 42.3 should be on?
I will prepare 52.8.1 packages and they will end up in the mozilla repo at least. I'm not sure they will still hit 42.3 as we already have an update to 60 in there. There was a preliminary agreement that we don't ship a 52.9 anymore. I'm not sure about 52.8.1 though. Especially if anything in the maintenance process would prevent us from doing so.
Also, Wolfgang,
Where do you get your sources for building from? The released source on the mozilla site is:
firefox-52.8.1esr.source.tar.xz
I note in your .spec for 52.8.0 your source was named:
firefox-52.8.0-source.tar.xz
(no esr and a '-' instead of a '.')
Further, when building, your source apparently expands to a 'mozilla' directory while the released source expands to 'firefox-52.8.1esr' (which makes for some fun in tweaking the .spec)
Any info you can provide would be appreciated (it's not a trivial .spec and the number of patches are in double digits :)
you found the create-tar.sh script already and there is not much more to say about it. I had to introduce it because to get timely updates out I need to prepare with HG snapshots already. Starting with Firefox 60 we ship detached signed upstream tarballs for most official packages. create-tar.sh will survive because we still need it for langpacks.
