As I read it, SuSE got in touch with Crayon, who said "what attack dogs? what lawsuit?" and indicated quite clearly that they had no intent to pursue a case against SuSE. Crayon agreed to relinquish all rights to prosecute and it was agreed that SuSE wasn't liable for licence fees. (I don't know if SuSE had to pay a one-off settlement fee; I hope not, since it really was a storm in a teacup.)
sounds like one of those third-party german copyright law gunslinger lawyer things, as we saw with killustrator.
