fine between the two. Has the security of X been beefed up by SuSe in 6.4 ? Yeah...
Any ideas on where to look to fix this problem. I've looked in my /var/log/messages for ipchains DENY messages in case the ports are blocked but there are none there. It is really a pain having to plug and unplug my monitor all the time, having an X server on my NT box (my the way, I have to run NT on my workstation PC for earning a living reasons) is so much easier. Ok, we will forgive you for using NT :) Uncomment the last line in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/xdm-config and set the port to 177
