You have to edit /etc/XF86Config. (Back it up first!!) In the section "Files" you will see various FontPaths. Change them so the 100dpi fonts occur BEFORE the 75dpi fonts. (Just swap the lines)
I did this. However, those annoyingly small fonts still dominate.
