Apparently that is because dovecot (2.3) was installed via YAST, thus, never compiled on this system. Apparently all the additional packaged installed in preparation for the compile party did not supply that file. Using the YAST search feature, in Software Management, that file name is not found. Therefore I am not persuaded to install additional packages hoping for oil to be poured on my head. The system has been updated to 15.5, and required packages installed without further fuss. Who might be inclined to assist in my quest?
