Hi,
When I try and start a KPPP session in KDE the modem dials and negotiates a connection. I can see in the log window where the proper login sequence is sent but before a ppp connection is established I get an error saying that "The pppd daemon died unexpectedly!". If I use ppp-up from a terminal window a ppp connection is established.. It seems like I saw a reference to this problem before and someone said to delete a lock file or something.
I have met the same problem when I tried kppp, I used a 486 with 8MB RAM, it runs not so fast under X window. But I have found a way to this problem: pls give the pppd more time in the timeout setting line, I set it at 300 second, and succeeded. Perhaps someone can have better solutions?
