<PRE> Hi, i have a problem with my new S.u.S.E. 5.2. I'm sure that the problem is mine, and not of S.U.S.E because I think it is a brilliant O.S. I configured by Yast 0.89.2 the connection to my Italian provider (IOL) and i activated diald: I chose a generic ISP Country ALL Setup default route ON Use diald ON Switch on/off deb ON Authentication PAP ...... When i try a telnet to host.domain.it the diald starts, make the connection to my provider and stop this connection immediately. In the attached file you can find the output of my /var/log/messages, i can't put it here because my modem shut down while sending this mail. :-( :-(( The problem is : ppp not replacing existing default route to sl0[127.0.0.2] why? Who can help me? When i try to start the connection to find bugs with (see below) everything is ok and the connection is good. conan:/root # /etc/suseppp/scripts/ppp-up also here you can find the /var/log/messages in the attached file I stopped the connection with the script /etc/suseppp/scripts/ppp-down Please see the attached file. I have another problem: when i try to make a query to the DNS while the connection is ok everything works well but if the connection is broken every program (es: Netscape) stops to work for many minutes because it thinks that DNS is very far and wait a lot of time to understand that DNS doesn't exist any more. How i can solve this problem? Thank you.
