I hit more snaggs than I would like to have hit with my upgrad of 8.0 -> 8.1. These may have been the result of my using the second hard drive for Linux, and a boot floppy to get around the Microsoft Chi Rho boot virus. Does anybody have a dual boot system that works with that OS (Windoze XP)? What happened to me was that the 8.1 install put the modules in /usr/src/linux-2.4.19.SuSE-SMP (or something similar), but pointed to /usr/src/linux-2.4.19.SuSE as the modules directory. I believe I figured this out by running depmod. I replaced the SMP kernel with the default kernel, and everybody is happy. This may have resulted from my having to do the installation reboot off the DVD because XP put it's boot virus on the first HD, and will not permit me to dual boot. Have others experienced this? I thought at one point I had the dual boot problem fixed, but something changed, and XP is back to exclusive use of the boot sectior. STH
