As explained to a friend of mine, this was not told in the books ++++++++++++++++++++++++ My hard drive ST317221A has 2096 cylin, 255 heads, 63 sectors, (33415 load -zone) 16.441 Gig If I go 16.441 / 2096 = 7.84 meg per cylinder to go below 1024 cylinders 7.84 * 1024 = 8.028 Gig Since SuSE will only start to install at the end cylinder and go to the start (see page 24 installation book, Suse 6.4) I have to make linux 16.441 gig minus 8.028 Gig = (8.413 Gig) or bigger to get LILO to work on my hard drive &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& In order for Hard drive to dual boot LILO.CONF (in /etc directory) has to be in (SUSE linux) with in the first 1024 Cylinders So as far as I know to fix your problem Lawrence you may have install SuSE starting on Cylinder 1024 through to the last Cylinder. or is there some other way of doing it
