I'm using 3Com Megahertz 10/100 (I remember it's a Cardbus II, code 3FE575.. + something) on my Toshiba Tecra 8100. SuSE 7.1 and 7.3 installed everything right first time, now with 8.1 I'm only having some problems with the sound, but NEVER ANY problems w/ the NIC. ...the connector/dongle is always a problem on PCMCIA's. /Henrik -----Original Message----- From: Dave Smith [mailto:Dave.Smith@st.com] Sent: 11. joulukuuta 2002 14:07 To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: Re: [SLE] PCMCIA Network card recommendations? Hi All, I shall probably be called on to SuSEfy a middle-aged Toshiba Satellite before long, anyone any dos or don'ts about that, and can anyone offer a recommendation for a known-easy-and-reliable-under-SuSE pcmcia network card?
3com 3c589B/C (Etherlink III) has been OK for me, although it's only 10 Mbit, and the dongle is a bit vulnerable - mine has broken. :-( The X-jack connectors are more sturdy, but I've never tried to use one under SuSE. -- David Smith Work Email: Dave.Smith@st.com STMicroelectronics Home Email: David.Smith@ds-electronics.co.uk Bristol, England GPG Key: 0xF13192F2 -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
