Hi EI: I could be wrong but it sounds like you have a 3D video card that is not configured for 3D. The IMPS/2 mouse should work just fine: your pointer section should look like this: Section "InputDevice" Driver "mouse" Identifier "Mouse[1]" Option "Device" "/dev/mouse" Option "InputFashion" "Mouse" Option "Name" "WHEEL MOUSE (PS/2)" Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2" Option "Vendor" "MICROSOFT" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection I would suggest looking at /var/log/XFree86.0.log and seeing if there are any warnings. These will be denoted by (WW) at the beginning of the line like so: (WW) The directory "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic" does not exist. Entry deleted from font path. I get this warning because I don't have Cyrillic fonts installed. On Monday 19 March 2001 08:32, you wrote:
Hello all!
Since I configured my IMPS/2 Intellimouse in 7.1 I've been having a frustrating problem with X-crashes. It often happens when I got more than one window open at the same time and when I try to move one of them, then everything freezes for a couple of seconds, then the screen goes black for a few seconds and the next thing that comes up is the login page. Note: when I leave the computer with the SuSE -> System -> unspecified -> Screensaver (XScreensaver I assume) for more than 15-20 minutes it probably crashes because when I'm back it's got the login page up.
Any ideas what this can be?
Cheers,
ei
