Hi! Trying to kill the keyboard, mhtexcollins@ccms.net produced:
I can get it to print asci and it loves it. but when I try to print anything else I get a few characters then paper rolling. I think someone said that I need new drivers. Anyone know.
Assuming you have the SDB installed, look at file://localhost/usr/doc/support-db/sdb_e/new_gs.html (or <A HREF="http://www.suse.de/Support/sdb_e/new_gs.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.de/Support/sdb_e/new_gs.html</A">http://www.suse.de/Support/sdb_e/new_gs.html</A</A>> - I guess) and check whether your printer might emulate one of the ones named there. While you are there, you did look at file://localhost/usr/doc/support-db/sdb_e/drucker-1.html ?
Since it will print asci, and fast, What is the easiest way to get a manpage or a html help file to print? All the howtoos are html onthis machine and I would like to print them out for away reading.
man MANPAGE > /dev/lp1 (or whatever device your printer is on) lynx -dump URL > /dev/lp1 though that will give you a tail where all links are mentioned. You could always save it in Ascii from netscape (but you'd have to play with the size of your netscape window, I think). -Wolfgang -- PGP 2 welcome: Mail me, subject "send PGP-key".
