Hi all,
I have been cooking my own kernels at home since 2.0.x days. Recently I upgraded to 6.4 which included gcc-2.95.2 as the default compiler. I compiled kernel 2.2.15 and upon booting it, it freezes after lilo has uncompressed it. I have tried recompiling many times with the same effect. I see the same effect with 2.2.14 too.
Has anyone compiled 2.2.15 on 6.4? Is it just me or there is something wrong? I have never faced problems with kernels except when I did it the first time.
Currently using 2.2.15 with the hendricks ide patch plus open wall security patch applied. The kernel is compied using 2.95.2 Also have a suse2.2.14 kernel again compiled with gcc 2.95.2 Currently PIII 600E is set to 672 MHz. Working with no problems. The only time I had the problem was when the cpu was overclocked to 800 then the Lilo didn't even appeared Hope it helps BTW the MOBO is Asus P3V4X with Via Apollo Pro 133 A chipset -- Togan Muftuoglu toganm@turk.net -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
