And anyway, those routers do reconnect automatically.
Some do, some merely watch for traffic, and reconnect when OUTGOING traffic is needed. When we had an office in Australia, that circuit would drop on the Australian ASDL end, and the router (stand alone) would NOT reconnect until something in the Sydney office triggered traffic. So when our Alaska office tried to connect to sync files Sydney could not be reached. We installed a slow ping (interval about 5 minutes as I recall) in the Sydney server to our Alaska server and that kept the line up. An external modem is no solution to inward reachability. - -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iEYEARECAAYFAlSwN1MACgkQv7M3G5+2DLJJDACfTCy9MFHH5UJFvVYUm6mjRijP QlUAn38uBddauZ4VvWx4L1GlmXUwga8W =ao5I -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
