So if you brew your own kernel (2.4.2) all the modules that are in /lib/modules/2.4.2 get removed as part of the make modules_install. That includes the alsa modules. Does SuSE have an alsa rpm that contains these modules other than their kernel rpms? It looks like if I make my own kernel that I also have go to and get my own alsa drivers. I feel like I'm being punished for brewing my own kernel. There should be a suse rpm for this. Is there, and I just don't know where it is??? Would I loose any functionality/sound quality if I dump alsa and just build the emu10k1 driver into my kernel? Or should I go and get the sources. I was hoping to keep this install as clean as possible. Nothing but rpm's. Thanks Mark
