It hapens to be that somehow the modem in my laptop (an ESS) worked just until feb-2001 and HP developed the windows patch for it. No linux option available. Does anyone here knows anything about this?, Who manufacture ESS?, Would they have a patch for this? Now I need to get not only a PCMCIA network card but a modem also. Any suggetion?, does it make any difference to have a combo card including both?, Which could be the least expensive option?
