From uname -a: Linux linux 2.4.21-144-smp4G #1 SMP Fri Nov 14 00:07:01 UTC 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I had to insmod the agpgart module to get 3d accel working with the 9800 under X (I added this to an init script to do this at boot): /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.21-144-smp4G/kernel/drivers/char/agp/agpgart.o agp_try_unsupported=1 Then restart your X session if already running (log out and log back in). fglrxinfo should then show something similar to: display: :0.0 screen: 0 OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc. OpenGL renderer string: Radeon 9800 (AIB) Pentium 4 (SSE2) OpenGL version string: 1.3 (X4.3.0-3.2.8) Just tested fglrxgears and avg'd 4300 FPS, along with a 23 cel increase(!) in CPU temp after a few minutes. -- Best regards, Brian Curtis
