What did I do wrong, and how can I determine which codecs are present?
go to yast, software install, repository view, then select packman. You may have an option "replace system files by this repo files", execute it to be sure all the files come from packman

I do not see hot to select any single repository. If I click on Yast2/Software Management/Repositories, I receive a list of all packages. Again, I do not see how to select a single repository.
On the top, there are a series of tabs. One ies "view", with a drop list. One says "repositories". Also it is possible that you see from the start a tab named "repositories". Any road, you are on it now. Then you will see the list of repositories on the left. <https://goo.gl/images/GidH6A> <https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Vendor_change_update> -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
