I think it was a KDE3 thing. Its really daft not having all the config programs in one place. System Settings should have one icon for screen that allows access to all screen related items as most non-tech users know "screen" for everything related to what they see on the monitor.
That's why KDE4's systemsettings do have a section in the screen module where you can set the resolution etc.

I thinking more along the lines of "Appearance. Desktop, Window Behaviour, Display, Desktop Theme Details" all under the one Icon called "Display or Screen or Monitor" with any advanced options appearing there. Anything related to the visual appearance on the screen should under the one icon. The sub items from the original buttons like "Appearance" can then be viewed like the "System Settings" is displayed now, it makes it a lot easier for a new user to find his configuration option. They are currently laid out in a too techie like format. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
