I've been hanging on this list since SuSE 5, and in all that time, I have had 1 message dissapear. I wrote to Christopher Mahmood and he had no record of it, but I had it in my sent box. I'm guessing either some computer in the route dropped it, or carnivore accidently ate it, or then again...it might be some psychologist testing me. :-)
I usually don't consider email to be so reliable that I would bet my life on it. But it rarely ever fails to work as expected. I usually get mail back within 1 minute of sending, sometimes even faster.
You can check in /var/log/mail. That will tell you what host it was sent to. Even if your email client has it in the sent folder does not mean that the email was successfully sent. - -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/WOpd+wA+1cUGHqkRAsAvAJ9KjbILxiMnaHXpDW8oBKPQ6246xQCeLscT j7cWCzBX8+/jqQTkS7BYYMM= =gxsS -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
