Is there a page or wiki with info on how to get an Ipod going on 12.1?? I just did a fresh install w/updates and would like to be able to connect an Ipod. The unit does show up in lsusb. Bus 001 Device 018: ID 05ac:129e Apple, Inc. iPod Touch 4.Gen Banshee should recognize the device when you connect an iPod. I tried that a couple times, no dice. I did a bunch of reading and tried a bunch of stuff, but still nothing, it does know the device is there, not sure what socket it is talking about.... suse-121-shuttle:~ # mkdir /media/ipod suse-121-shuttle:~ # chmod 777 /media/ipod suse-121-shuttle:~ # usbmuxd suse-121-shuttle:~ # ifuse /media/ipod No device found, is it connected? <---Ipod not connected (on purpose) If it is make sure that your user has permissions to access the raw usb device. If you're still having issues try unplugging the device and reconnecting it. suse-121-shuttle:~ # ifuse /media/ipod <---Ipod connected WARNING: no socket to connect to suse-121-shuttle:~ #
No No. You shouldn't need to do anything like that.
When you connect the iPod do you get a mass-storage mount message from GNOME?
Perhaps you are missing a package, if you "zypper search ipod" what shows as installed? I don't recall what package is used to manage the ipod, I'll have to check later.
When I connect I get a pop up that asks what I want to open the pictures with, no new drives show up. zypper search ipod returns nothing. suse-121-shuttle:~ # zypper search ipod Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... No packages found. suse-121-shuttle:~ # I would expect gtkpod to show up, I installed it with Yast. This is all new to me, the gtkpod page mentions something about firewire???
