I want to add my "well done" for a most excellent 10.3 release. The smoothness of the update mechanism is worth the switch if nothing else, especially for those who remember the disastrous 10.1 release. I upgraded from 10.2 to 10.3 rather than doing a fresh install. I was asked to resolve some package conflicts (due to my adding non-openSuSE rpms it would seem). I did so, performed the install, and then added them back. Performance is about the same as before. My number crunching routines are running 2-3% faster, but that's due to the newer kernel I suspect. The only problem I had was with VMware Workstation 5.5, which would not re-install with the new kernel. I kept getting a compile error. I upgraded to version 6 (asked for a 30 day eval license) and that installed fine. Then, when I launched a windows virtual machine, I found that bridged networking didn't work but NAT did. A simple change, and perhaps there's a simpler fix. My only complaint: green isn't my favorite color. (Fortunately, that was easily fixed!) Again, my thanks and a "well done" to the openSuSE team!
