Curious.. where is the option to not load xconsole by default? I can't seem to find the script for it..
Hm.. this doesn't seem to have been answered yet. If SuSE comes up in mode 3, you get full network support and X (if X is installed). If it comes up in mode 2, you get full network support but not X. Mode 1 doesn't have network support, but still supports multiple console sessions on your one console. You could change the definition of the different modes, but I recommend against it. I think you can use YAST to change the default. Or you could modify lilo.conf to provide multiple options for the different modes. You can specify a default in the global-settings section, or if you don't, whatever you put first is the default. However, the other options are just a few keys away at boot time, and you can add a message file to display them - read the man page for lilo.conf for details. Any time you change lilo.conf OR the message file OR recompile or move a kernel or a map file, you have to run lilo to update the boot sector. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
