Things to check:
(1) If you start mplayer from the console, does the version shown match the version you have installed?
It does NOT show the version I am TRYING to install. This is a problem. I see the following: MPlayer 0.90rc4-3.3 (C) 2000-2003 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS) Note, this is the version that comes on the SuSE CD. I have tried repeatedly to install the RPM on Packman site (which I think is rc5??). However, using the Yast installer it INSISTS that I insert the SuSE CD and then I think it just reinstalls the CD version. It simply won't install the newer version from the RPM. So it appears that I'm using the "crippled" SuSE 8,2 version but I can't change that. I've even uninstalled the rc4 version and tried again. RPM still INSISTS that I insert the CD. Any ideas?
(2) Do you see these files:
wma9dmod.dll wmadmod.dll wmspdmod.dll wmv8ds32.ax wmv9dmod.dll wmvdmod.dll wmvds32.ax
in /usr/lib/win32?
Yes, all of these files are there. Gil
