Yes, I'm using ReiserFS, but I've done this on my desktop and it worked just fine and I'm using ReiserFS on it. I didn't know there were any patches needed. I just downloaded the lx_suse source from SuSE and configured the kernel...I remember selecting ReiserFS on a kernel module. My "plain" linux kernel, vmlinuz, not vmlinuz.suse, works o.k. and I _think_ I'm using Reiser on it, I've got the following process currenly running, [kreiserfsd], and it's up and running. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Trotz \(RPR Architects\)" <dct@rprarchitects.com> Date: Tuesday, January 9, 2001 5:21 pm Subject: Re: [SLE] 2.2.16 kernel recompile help? Kernel panic!
Are you using the Reiser fs? and if so did you patch the kernel to includethis and configure the Kernel to use it?

After recompiling the kernel, ran all the make's and lilo and after I reboot, I select my new kernel from the lilo menu and it seems to be getting started o.k., but then I see:
Kernel panic!VFS:Unable to mount root fs on 03:07
Did I miss a step after the recompile? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Daniel
