That broke a whole pile of plugins that only worked with later versions, so I'm going to work my way forward disabling those each in turn singly.
TOMORROW!
I've seen FF extensions create this type of behavior before; for instance, Privacy Badger was breaking certain pages even when selecting "Disable Privacy Badger for This Site".
Well I've not just globally disabled that but also removed it and restarted, to no avail. I had my suspicius, but ...
I've also seen situations where two extensions were creating a similar problem with a page not being rendered properly which can make troubleshooting difficult when you start disabling extensions one by one and thought you had it narrowed down to only one extension.
Ah, yes, but the approach I'm taking is to disable them all and enable them one at a time The thing is that in late version FF they get tagged "legacy". Even so, with all of them disabled the problem persists! or I'm missing something. I've tried disabling all extensions and the problems still exists with 55. I've looked at the source code of the relevant eBay pages and there in the middle is an <iframe>. That refers to a ebage "dll", which i gather is URl that executes its paramenter list. I follow that I get to another page that includes an <iframe> over again. I haven't followed that. So the problem might be with <iframe> indirection rendering. later: I create a new 'test' profile from scratch, no plugins at all. The ebay pages render OK. So even having certain plugins loaded but disabled makes a difference!
As a side note, no problem here with eBay pages being rendered properly with FF 52.3.0 on Leap 42.3.
What other extensions do you have ?
