Which is what used to be done. But downloading the source, and then having it replaced each time the kernel got updated (some 65MB each time), is less preferable to just downloading kernel-<your-kernel>-devel :-) . Of course, if you are going to compile the kernel itself then, as you know, you need the kernel-source. (BTW, is that sound problem with the microphone sorted out yet?)
