My questions: - Can anyone decrypt those mce messages?
I'll offer a guess - I see three errors, one corrected, two uncorrected, although they are reported in different "banks". I have to think that is a memory problem.
The beeping you are hearing is almost certainly the BIOS' way of communicating that.
They sent me a new one. It also beeps, but a bit different :-) I cannot "decode" the beeps as they are fast. I tried to look at it in audacity (installed it for that) but the line is so flat that I also couldn't find out more... So I have no idea about those beeps.
- Is is clear that it is a hardware error or could it be a software thing?
With Machine Checks, it is a hardware issue.
I guess I am too late and you have already returned the device, but I would have tried another memory stick or another configuration. Much like what Felix suggested too.
Yes, they already changed it for a new one. Apart of the beeps it run from beginning (I had the system already installed before on the SSD that I didn't send for exchange). I let it run (without doing nothing) for approx. 3 hours and it didn't reboot. But I will have to make tests with heavy load, because the errors occurred during system update when the computer had a lot to do applying changes. I'll try with some video rendering. To change Memory I'd need other memory bars, which I would have to buy...
Also, your mini PC is most likely made by Xuzhou Venoen, the same one is available under different names - Fanpeec, Weidian etc. Looking at some of the other names, they say max 16Gb memory per slot.
Yes, I was aware that it is something cheap (as, relatively, is the price), put together with what's available in low-price. This new one, for example, has another fan than the last one. On the page of the seller they say 32Gb per slot, but a maximum of 32Gb in total. I have put one 32Gb bar, tried both slots (in the failed machine) with no difference. Hardware Info shows 32Gb.
It is really poor show that there is no manual with your PC.
Yes, not even a list of the used parts, it's a bit disappointing. -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Málaga https://www.patreon.com/danielbauer https://www.daniel-bauer.com
