I want to install this on multiple machines. What is the fastest way to install the server on multiple machines?
Install on one, then dd the partitions to the other harddisks whilst installed in one box. Alternatively, use autoyast.
The machines will differ only with the IP address and host name, .... I thought on using RAID. Could it work, to install RAID on the first machine, and than take one hard disk out, and replace it with a new one, use the removed disk for the next server, with a new second hard disk ..... ????
Yes, that'll work too.
For, oh, 2 or 3 or maybe 4 machines, the raid or dd solutions are wonderful. Once you get above that, take a look at autoyast -- it's a wonderful, beautiful piece of software. `yast2 autoyast` will take you into the config screen, which I think is installed by default. (Also, under "Misc" within yast, select "autoinstalltion") - Ian
