When mounting an ftp host: curlftpfs user:password@home.mnet-online.de /ftp-mnet/ the password is displayed by mount. How can I get rid of this?
Hi Karl, I don't know how to remove the visible password, but I'd suggest that you shouldn't be using username/password ftp in the first place. Since usernames and passwords are sent in the clear with the ftp protocol, the information is subject to sniffing in transit. Anonymous ftp is fine, since the password is meaningless.
