Alt+n doesn't work nor just typing the digit (since when there is an entry field which can display a list of values -- groups for example, the digit 3 is interpreted as an entry into the field). Unless there is a way around, it looks like I will have to use another terminal program when running YAST. As for the XMMS problem, you were all right in suggesting that I will check the output plugin. For some reason it was set to Disk Writer... Avi Jon Pennington wrote:

Hi everyone!
I am currently using Helix Gnome under Suse 6.3 and really like it. I have a couple of questions though, that I hope some one can answer:
1. Gnome Terminal: When running YAST1 within Gnome Terminal, the function keys (F3, F4, etc.) don't work properly. I looked at the preferences but I didn't see any setting that can be changed to fix this.
Try using Alt+n instead of Fn (for instance F1 becomes Alt+1, F2 becomes Alt+2, F10 becomes Alt+0).
2. Sound: I am using the commercial OSS driver. Under KDE everything works just fine. Under Gnome, only some of the applications produce sound. For example, Real Player plays just fine, but XMMS is silent.
Are you using the correct XMMS output plugin for OSS?
