Upon laptop power up WiFi connection is established - no issues. The connection stays up for for 2-3 hours. However, if I the laptop goes into screen saver "lock mode" then I am unable to re-establish the WiFi connection. Clicking on the Netmanager applet, I request reconnection to the WiFi AP. I get the Netmanager dialog box [1] with the "configured" pass phrase already in the field. Clicking on OK says "Authenticating" but nothing happens and then I get the same dialog box [1] and this goes on ad infinitum.
So far, system reboot is the only way to re-establish WiFi connection.
Any suggestions to fix the problem welcome.
http://userbase.kde.org/NetworkManagement is about debugging. You could file a bug and attach the requestd info. Also, you can install the gnome applet for NetworkManager and try with that one. If that fails as well it is a general issue and not bound to the KDE client.
