smb is in /etc/rc.d/init.d. You can stop/start it by root issuing the following: /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb stop /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb start Gerry On 29-Mar-99 Jim Hodgers wrote:
I finally recieved my 6.0 package and installed it. I found that samba was not installed by the default install and ran Yast to install. I edited my "/etc/smb.conf" and went to stop and restart smb and nmb. Surprise, no smb in "/usr/sbin" (where mandrake had them). "locate smb" shows a lot of files. but no smb. Is it renamed in this distro, or do I need to load something else?
