Anyway, it now has a 64-bit processor and an upgraded BIOS to go with it, but it still only accesses 3.2 GiB.
Does it also have 64 bit OS?
Doesn't matter. My Thinkpad T60p has an Intel 945 series chipset. It was originally released for the 32bit Core Duo(Socket M), but it's been upgraded to a T7600G Core2 Duo. I have installed 4GB (2x2GB) but it only sees 3GB. I think that's a BIOS limitation by Lenovo. So I now run 3GB. My son has a Dell XPS 1710 with a T7600 and has 4GB. But it can only see 3.25GB RAM. That's because it has a 512MB nVidia GeForce GO 7900GTX. It also has a 945 series chipset(Socket M). There were a few motherboards that could map the video RAM and other stuff above 4GB, but it caused issues with Windows, so it wasn't popular.
