Hello,
since two days (may since last updates?) I have strange problems with my mouse: it doesn't move smoothly, it's as it makes little pauses and then jumps to a next position. Or, when I resize a window dragging a corner, focus suddenly jumps to the window below.
I changed the battery of my logitech wireless mouse, no change. So I changed mouse and USB-receiver for another mouse/receiver of the same model - same problems.
All worked perfect until yesterday or the day before.
It is not all the time, it started after some hours uptime, using gimp and digikam at the same time. I logged out and in again, but no change now.
Reboot? :-?
Try different desktop?
Anything "strange" in the logs?
I plugged the receiver of the mouse to another USB-plug, and since then it works normal (knock on wood)...
I couldn't find anything in the logs, but this doesn't mean a lot, as I didn't really know what to look for...
Before, rebooting didn't help. This morning it was so terrible that I almost wasn't able to point an icon because the mouse-cursor didn't move and then suddenly jumped to another position...
I wonder a bit, because this is a very new machine, and the mouse-receiver had been plugged in the same plug since beginning and worked until few days ago...
So, for the moment it seems solved...
jfyi: I have a new dell XPS 8950 and if I plug the mouse-receiver into the rear of the box, I have problems moving the mouse similar to a very low battery. move the receiver to front of the box and no problems. ?? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet oftc
