What don't expect is that when I run a 'zypper up' and I get 4 or 5 updates, each one of them triggers a mkinitrd. Surely just one, at the end when all the deltas/whatever have been done.
In TW this problem should be gone: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=881780 In the mean time I reduce the annoyance of repeats by, prior to a normal updates run, doing a zypper in on the installed packages that trigger the rebuilds in this 'zypstart' mini-script: zypper -v in zypper libzypp libsolv-tools rpm openSUSE-release zypper -v in device-mapper dmraid glibc lvm2 multipath-tools mdadm systemd udev -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
