Dear SuSE people,
I think I can get a good price on the Panasonic 7250 CdWriter, which is NOT directly supported (under the Panasonic name) in the SSUE database, BUT the CDW 7250 is supported. Has anyone installed the Panasonic 7250, and if so what happened?
I have one. It is the 7502B. First, the little cooling fan in back, made alot of noise after a couple of hours. It is a common problem with this unit. I took it apart and put some good lube in it, and it has been fine ever since. Xcdroast dosn't recognize it, but cdrecord does. It is a reliable unit, except for the noisy cooling fan. Very good for the price, it burns cheap "blue" cd's without a problem. Cdrecord can be a little daunting at first, but there is a package out there called Create-a-cd, which includes cdrecord, and has a very nice README which gives examples for various types of recording. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
