I tried to empty my trash bin, and I am getting 'access denied' errors on some items.
what could be going on?
Hi, I thin I have had this problem before. I can't remember exactly how to do this at the moment so I will give you some pointers to try and help you. Open up home using konqueror > Desktop > trashcan Change mode to hidden files (view drop down list, click on hidden files). There should be two files displayed, one is named something like patterns or data or something. Open the files one by one to see if anything is in them. Delete the info in the one that has something. That will be the metadata of what you are trying to delete. If doing it that way doesn't get it, then open up konsole. In it su to root. Then type "konqueror /home/your-user-name/Desktop/trash.desktop" without quotes. Make sure hidden files are displayed as above. Look for the same two files, open them one by one to find which contains data. Then delete the problem. That is the general idea of how to do this, but I remember there was something tricky about getting the trash can open to view the files. It is a very important point, unfortunately memory eludes me at the moment and you might have to poke around a little in kongueror to get the trash can open right to see the two files I am talking about (and also can't remember their names, sorry.) Hope this helps get you on the right track! Mark -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
