Dear Michael Andersen,
I only wanted to tell that the Matrox cards don't have an accelerated server. I don't know how the co-operation is between Matrox and XFree. But i myself don't think there will be chances that there will be a accelerated XFree86 server for the Matrox cards. By the way i know that the Matrox cards are very fast even under a SVGA XFree server. but the thing i'm worried about is. That whenever XFree will support 3 D. That Matrox won't be available with 3 D support under XFree, what do you think?
The fact that there isn't a separate driver for the Matrox cards doesn't mean there isn't accelerated drivers for them. They're just integrated in the SVGA driver (i.e. it contains specific Matrox code). Furthermore I believe Matrox recently released full specs for their cards (more or less, as it's only available to "registered developers", can anyone tell more?). I think the Matrox cards will soon be the best supported cards in the 3D area, as they're always been in the 2D area.
