So I have my doubts.
Nice to see them _asking questions_.
However, has anyone spelled out exactly _why_ Leap, as we've known it for several years now is "untenable",
Well from my perspective it is all a bunch of premature hoopla. When the topic was started there was even less direction to ALP than there is today. While the direction of ALP is maturing, see the announcements at SUSECon there is still much uncertainty about how the puzzle pieces fit together. With the decision made that there will be a General purpose Enterprise distribution there's nothing really in the way to have Leap as it is known today. Well the internals of the distro will probably be different than today, but again what that looks like for the Enterprise distro is still a topic of conversation. And how this may be applied to Leap is of course up to the community. Bottom line is, more patience is required.
but Tumbleweed is just fine?
And for those of us that pretty much update...never? Unless some vuln which actually threatens my _actual_ setup is pertinent? What is the "best choice" then?
That can only be answered when we get closer to knowing what Granite, the general Enterprise distribution will lok like and how many people are interested to build a community distribution from/with/on-top-of it.
