Hi,
I have a very little bit of BTC and ETH in an online crypto place, that now informed me that it will start to charge me for storing my cryptos.
So, I want to transfer it to my own computer.
I know there is the original bitcoin wallet, but that cannot handle ETH.
So I am looking for a free, if possible open-source, wallet that does not depend on some online company and that can handle both currencies (or, in the worst case, a wallet for ETH only, and handle bitcoin in its original wallet).
I don't need any sophisticated market tools. I need to be able to receive and send cryptos, and maybe one day exchange them to real money.
Any hints? Thanks, and have a nice evening.
I've tested out Bisq before. Another option you can try is https://thorchain.org/swap There are different ways of using this chain and allows for defi, so if you want to swap for certain tokens for use cases there are great options. I've been doing Hivemapper and helium as well, but obviously on Solana. There are several options including Metamask. It just depends on what you want to do and what your use cases are. Crypto and blockchain isn't just about finance as there are many problems it solves. Hivemapper is a great example of this. If it's just about finance and you want to self custody then there are several options. If you don't care, just use an exchange. Binance will likely the best option in my opinion after CZ has agreed to terms with the DOJ in the US from a financially regulated point of view. v/r Doug
