No, that's not normal and it doesn't happen to me - unless I go to another workspace before the window has opened. And some applications do not properly behave in this respect (yast, OOo sometimes).
Upper left hand corner... click ... To Desktop.
Problem solved.
Try that with yast, qt/you module, gnome desktop, while it is donwloading the repo list, and then see if you can keep what you said. Or I could save you time telling you there is a bugzilla about it :-p
Oh..that problem...the one where the opening window of a new child process keeps dragging you back to the other desktop...
Sorry..the OP's way of describing it sounded like something completely different. Hi All,
Carlos, I have KDE delivered with OpenSUSE 10.3 with all recent online updates. w.r.t. the OP description: Let me try to describe it better. With OOo-Writer: I have 2 desktops. On desktop 1 I have Konqueror opened my Documents directory. I move to Desktop 2. There I start OOo-Writer. I move back to Desktop 1. In Konqueror I click on an *.odt file. The file opens, but in the already opened OOo-Writer on Desktop 2. With Adobe Reader 8: I can also reproduce this behaviour with Adobe 8. I opened a *.PDF on Desktop 2, then went to Desktop 1 and clicked on another *.PDF file; the *.PDF is opened in Desktop I where Adobe 8 was open with the other *.PDF document. Kpdf seems to behave correctly as far as I could determine. With Firefox 2.0.0.14: In an ERPII system that is accessed by any browser, in this case Firefox, I noticed similar behaviour when I click on a link in Desktop 1's Firefox, it opens a tab on Desktop 2's Firefox where I last worked with Firefox. Firefox in Desktop 2 already had two tabs open, the last one opened is which is then used by Firefox of Desktop 1. Both Firefox's were logged on to the same ERPII system at the time. It is reproducable with OOo-Writer and Adobe 8 Reader every time, but only in Firefox when I use it with the ERPII system.
